Business Portfolio Guidelines

Purpose

A Business Portfolio is a richer public page for showing your story, work, products, services, gallery and contact information.

Tell a real story

Use your own business history, experience and achievements. Keep dates, locations, client counts, awards and certifications accurate.

Show your best work

Use high-quality images that clearly represent your work. A smaller number of strong images is better than many repeated or unrelated images.

Products and services

Use clear names, short descriptions and realistic prices or price ranges where you choose to publish them.

Before and after content

If you show before/after work, make sure the comparison is genuine, not misleading, and appropriate for public viewing.

Client names and projects

Do not publish confidential client information, private documents, addresses, contracts or project material without permission.

Branding

You can use your logo, brand colours and marketing copy, but do not imitate another brand in a way that may confuse customers.

Contact and calls to action

Keep phone, WhatsApp, website and social links working. Use clear actions such as Call, WhatsApp, Get Directions or Visit Website only where they apply.

Claims

Avoid guaranteed results, fake scarcity, fake reviews or unsupported claims such as 'No. 1', 'official', 'certified' or 'authorised' unless you can support the claim.

Updates

Refresh your portfolio when products, services, team, location, branding or key work changes.

Directory relationship

A portfolio can appear alongside a directory listing. The directory helps customers discover you, while the portfolio gives them more detail about your business.

What makes a useful portfolio

A strong portfolio should show real examples of your work, a clear explanation of services, a short business story, accurate contact details and useful images. Choose quality over quantity and keep older work updated when it no longer represents your current standard.

Client work and permissions

If your portfolio contains client photographs, logos, confidential work or personal information, make sure you have permission to publish it. Remove private details that are not necessary to demonstrate the work.

Claims, prices and availability

Do not promise results that you cannot reasonably support. If you show prices, delivery times or availability, keep them current or clearly state that they are examples and may change.
